Company
The Carini agricultural business comprises a 140 hectare estate, which includes typical Umbrian farmhouses and two small lakes.
It is positioned between the slopes of Mount Tezio and the plain of Lake Trasimeno, an area traditionally recognised as being particularly suitable for the cultivation of grapes and olives.
-
Located in a mid-hill area at the foot of Mount Tezio between 270 and 360 meters above sea level and surrounded by a landscape of rare beauty, the vineyards of Sangiovese, Gamay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Grechetto and Trebbiano are all spur-pruned and cordon-trained on a territory that is for the most part marl-arenaceous.
-
The Carinis are the only family in Umbria who breeds the ‘Cinta Senese’ by operating on a closed cycle (the pigs are born, grow, reproduce and are processed entirely on the farm), a conscious choice which ensures the highest level of quality and safeguarding of a breed of pig with unique characteristics, and which is now facing extinction.
